Our Team

Lee Roberts

Managing Partner

Lee co-founded SharpVue and leads its real estate investment effort. He has spent his 25+ year career in real estate investment and finance and has been involved in the sector in several contexts, including private equity, investment banking and commercial banking. Immediately prior to SharpVue, he served as budget director for the State of North Carolina, a role in which, among other initiatives, he led an effort to rationalize the state’s real estate portfolio.

Before his time in public service, Mr. Roberts was most recently Managing Director of Piedmont Community Bank Holdings, a private equity-backed bank investment platform in Raleigh. He was earlier a Partner at Cherokee Investment Partners, a real estate private equity fund in Raleigh, and he spent nine years with Morgan Stanley in London and New York, focused on real estate investment banking.

Doug Vaughn

Managing Partner

Doug leads SharpVue’s private credit and equity investment fund. Prior to joining SharpVue, he served as Senior Managing Director, Co-Head of Investment Group, and Management and Investment Committee member at Triangle Capital Corp., a publicly traded business development company with over $1.2 billion of assets under management. While at Triangle Capital, Doug led the origination, structuring, and execution of lower middle market debt and equity securities in financial sponsor backed and independently operated businesses.

Prior to joining Triangle Capital, Doug was President and a Director of VIETRI, Inc., the largest U.S. importer, distributor, and marketer of handmade Italian ceramic and home décor items. Prior thereto, he advised business owners, managers, and private equity funds on strategic initiatives, including acquisitions and corporate finance, as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte Consulting. Doug began his career at Sara Lee Corporation, specifically Sara Lee Personal Products Europe, where he was an original member of the team that established and managed the company’s first division in Eastern Europe.

James Burke

Partner, Private Credit & Equity

James is a Partner in SharpVue’s private credit and equity strategy. Prior to joining SharpVue, he served as Managing Director and Investment Committee member at Triangle Capital Corp., a publicly traded business development company with over $1.2 billion of assets under management. While at Triangle Capital, James led the origination, structuring, and execution of lower middle market debt and equity securities in financial sponsor backed and independently operated businesses.

Prior to Triangle, James was an investment professional at Cyprium Partners (f/k/a Key Principal Partners), a $1 billion non-sponsor focused provider of mezzanine and junior capital.  Prior to Cyprium, Mr. Burke was an investment professional with Cross Atlantic Capital Partners, a $500 million venture capital firm focused on early to mid-stage technology investing. He began his career as a consultant at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.

George Purrington

Principal, Real Estate

George supports each of SharpVue’s investment strategies through financial analysis, targeted research, and portfolio monitoring. Prior to SharpVue, he worked at Eastdil Secured / Wells Fargo Securities, a real estate investment banking platform, where he helped clients execute strategic and financing objectives. George began his career with Fifth Street Finance, a specialty finance company that lends to and invests in small and middle-market businesses.

Jarrett Wood

Principal, Private Credit & Equity

Jarrett assists in the sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring of private credit and equity investments. Prior to joining SharpVue, he served in principal investing roles at Triangle Capital Corp. and Gladstone Capital Corp., two publicly traded business development companies. In these roles, Jarrett underwrote and structured debt and equity securities in lower middle market companies for buyout, recapitalization, and growth capital transactions.

Jarrett began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at BB&T Capital Markets where he was responsible for advising aerospace companies and government contractors on M&A advisory and private placement transactions.

Victoria Sumbs

Vice President, Finance

Victoria Sumbs, Vice President, Finance at SharpVue, has over 6 years of experience working in finance and operations at large institutional investors including DUMAC, Inc. and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. She began her career in public accounting with Cohn Reznick, LLP. Victoria is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of North Carolina.

Chase Ratliff

Vice President, Private Credit & Equity

Chase assists in the sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring of SharpVue’s private credit and equity investments. Prior to joining SharpVue, she served in principal investing roles at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas and Triangle Capital Corp. At Texas Teacher’s, Chase was responsible for underwriting and monitoring co-investments in private credit, private equity, and venture capital transactions in the U.S. and Europe. At Triangle Capital, Chase was responsible for underwriting and monitoring debt and equity investments in sponsor backed and independently operated businesses. Chase began her career at Deloitte Consulting.

Harris Hudson

Associate, Real Estate

Harris conducts market research, financial underwriting, and evaluation of new real estate investments across the Southeast. In this role, Harris also manages SharpVue’s existing real estate portfolio through effective communication with investors, tenants, and other stakeholders. Prior to joining SharpVue, he served in the United States Army as an Aviation Officer specializing in strategic planning, risk management, and tactical operations.

Paolo Dionisio

Analyst, Private Credit & Equity

Paolo supports the underwriting and monitoring of private credit and equity investments. Paolo joined SharpVue in July 2021 after graduating from Washington and Lee University with a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Japanese.
